SAN FRANCISCO — San Francisco's police chief is asking for the public's help in the search for the driver of a vehicle who struck and killed a 2-year-old girl.

Chief Greg Suhr told KTVU-TV (http://bit.ly/1vWeAuN) the incident that killed Mi-Yana Gregory "devastating."

Suhr is asking for those who may know the driver to notify police.

Police say the girl was in a crosswalk with her mother and twin brother when she was fatally hit by a car in the city's South of Market neighborhood late Friday night.

Police say the driver of the vehicle was traveling eastbound when it hit the girl and did not stop around 10:37 p.m. Friday.

The vehicle is described as a white mid-1990s four-door sedan and may possibly either be a Toyota Camry, Honda or Lexus with a dark-colored mismatched front bumper and dark or black rims.
