Police zap girl, 14, with Taser at Monterey County Fair
MONTEREY — Police say they used a Taser on a 14-year-old girl after she attacked an officer at the Monterey County Fair.
Lt. Leslie Sonne tells the Monterey Herald (http://bit.ly/W4FKPE ) that officers were questioning two teenage girls Saturday night after receiving reports that they had been involved in a fight.
Sonne says the 16-year-old became combative and an officer tackled her, then the 14-year-old jumped on the officer's back and another officer shot her with his stun gun.
Both girls were taken to juvenile detention on allegations of battery on a police officer and resisting arrest before they were released to their families.
Sonne says there will be an investigation into the use of force.
