Candidates for Santa Rosa City Council will be asked to address issues affecting local youth at an election forum Thursday night at Chop’s Teen Club.

The 7 p.m. event is being sponsored by the Youth Empowerment Council, a partnership of Chop’s and Tomorrow’s Leaders Today, open to students grades 10 to 12, and will focus on issues that matter to young people.

As such, only those aged 24 and younger will be allowed to ask questions, organizers say.

Six contenders are vying for three available seats on the seven-member council.

The forum will be held at Chop’s 509 Adams Street in Santa Rosa.
