Youth program to debut The John Jordan Education Center
Community Action Partnership is set to hold a grand opening Wednesday for their new education center.
The John Jordan Education Center was created after Youth Connections, the program that helps at-risk students make up class credits and earn their high-school diplomas, moved last month to North Dutton Avenue, next door to CAP, its parent agency, and merged with its Center for Economic Success. The merger will allow the dozens of students in Youth Connections to have greater access to financial literacy and micro-business classes, officials said.
Speakers at the grand opening ceremony, from 2 to 4 p.m. at 1300 N. Dutton Avenue, Suite A, Santa Rosa, will include Sonoma County Supervisor Shirlee Zane, CAP Executive Director Tim Reese and John Jordan, the philanthropist after whom the center is named.
Tours of the building will be offered.
