Two suspects in an apparent pot-related home invasion robbery and shooting Sunday morning in northern Mendocino County remained at large on Tuesday.

Mendocino County Sheriff’s Capt. Greg Van Patten said detectives have only vague suspect descriptions to work with.

The shooting victim, an adult male, is expected to survive, he said. Two people who were visiting the man’s home between Covelo and Dos Rios were assaulted and suffered minor injuries, sheriff’s officials said.

The suspects, one of them armed, entered the home early Sunday morning and demanded money, sheriff’s officials said. They then fled with money, processed marijuana and some unspecified precious metals.

The ongoing investigation into the case is being conducted by the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office with assistance from the Mendocino Major Crimes Task Force, County of Mendocino Marijuana Eradication Team, investigators with the Mendocino County District Attorney’s Office and the California Department of Justice Bureau of Forensic Services.
