Eat free on Thanksgiving in Sonoma County

Four towns offer free holiday meals Nov. 26 and 27. Here’s how to find them.|

Santa Rosa - The Redwood Gospel Mission’s Great Thanksgiving Banquet is 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Wednesday at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds, 1350 Bennett Valley Road. It’s free, open to everyone and includes medical/dental screenings, warm coat giveaway, bounce houses and face painting. 542-4817, srmission.org.

Guerneville - A free community Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings is served 1-5 p.m. Thursday at Guerneville’s Vets Memorial Hall, First and Church streets. Everyone is welcome.

Sebastopol - The free annual Thanksgiving dinner is 1-5 p.m. Thursday at Community Church of Sebastopol, 1000 Gravenstein Highway N. 829-7357.

Sonoma - The Sonoma Community Center’s 58th annual Thanksgiving dinner starts at 3 p.m. Thursday and continues until the food runs out. It’s free, at the Veterans Memorial Hall, 126 First St. West. 938-4626, ext. 1, sonomacommunitycenter.org.
