A head-on crash on Highway 12 just east of Sebastopol on Monday morning was blocking the route and CHP officials were re-directing traffic.

The 7:33 a.m. crash was on westbound Highway 12 at Merced Avenue, just west of Fulton Road. The CHP reported the crash was cleared by about 8:30 a.m. but that delays were expected to remain along that westbound stretch between Sebastopol and west Santa Rosa.

Two pickup trucks collided, spreading debris across the two-lane highway, according to the initial CHP report. Both drivers were out of their vehicles but an ambulance was responding and the extent of injuries wasn’t immediately known.
