Scott Weaver, the supermarket worker who every year turns his Rohnert Park cul-de-sac home into a blinding holiday wonderland, won $50,000 on Monday night’s reality TV show “The Great Christmas Light Fight.”

Weaver was holding court after the show Monday night in his fully illuminated driveway on Cielo Circle as dozens of people came by to congratulate him. One Santa Rosa man said he saw Weaver’s house on the TV show and got in his car and drove over to see it Monday night.

Weaver was presented with his prize money and trophy in his driveway after the first episode of the reality show aired Monday night. He was pitted against three other homes in the competition. The show’s season consists of six episodes, with two airing at a time on three consecutive Mondays.

One of the show’s judges, Sabrina Soto, gave Weaver a big hug on the show and wished him a Merry Christmas.

“I came to tell you that your holidays are going to be even happier because - you won!” Soto said.

Weaver jumped in the air, grabbed the shoulders of two men and the three began to hop in a circle, yelling “Weaver! Weaver! Weaver!”

“We did it. We just won this thing,” Weaver said.

When Soto asked what Weaver would do with his $50,000. He told her he’d really like to go to Disneyland.

“Then, I’d really get some ideas,” he said Monday.

Soto said competition was tough, but praised the hand-painted characters and lighting display. “This blew me away .?.?. It was everything that Christmas should be,” she said.

The evening was not without emotion when Weaver started talking about his late mother. Choking up, Weaver said she would be so proud, because he has put a lot of his life into it. “Sabrina Soto cried on my driveway,” he said.

Soto gave him a trophy - a giant Christmas bulb. “This is the ultimate appreciation for all the 20 years I’ve put into this …? I’ve got a great place for it,” Weaver said.

“Of course you do,” Soto said.

“Right at the front arch of the castle,” Weaver said.
