Bay Area teen suspected of bringing pot-laced cookies to school

HERCULES — A San Francisco Bay Area high school student has been arrested for allegedly bringing more than a dozen marijuana-laced cookies to sell at his school.

Hercules police tell the Oakland Tribune (http://bayareane.ws/1vcNO1W ) Thursday the 16-year-old was arrested on suspicion of possessing marijuana for sale and child endangerment.

Hercules Police spokeswoman Connie Van Putten says a school security officer received information on Wednesday that the student was selling cookies to other students.

The boy reportedly had 17 individually wrapped cookies inside a plastic food container. He also had cookies in his pocket and $44 in cash.

Van Putten says the security officer did a "presumptive test" that came back positive for THC, the active mind-altering ingredient in marijuana.

She says said the student was booked into Juvenile Hall.
