Ex-Mendocino County prison guard faces prison time for child porn

A former state prison guard and Rohnert Park resident accused of secretly videotaping an underage female relative while she undressed reached a plea bargain Tuesday carrying a possible four-year prison term.

Todd Morrow, 44, was charged with using hidden cameras to record the girl while she disrobed in her bathroom and bedroom last fall. He was arrested after the girl’s mother discovered a flash drive containing the images in a pocket of his uniform.

Morrow later was fired from his job as a guard at a Mendocino County prison camp with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. He has since moved to American Canyon.

Just before his scheduled preliminary hearing Tuesday, Morrow reached a deal with prosecutors to plead no contest to child pornography and Peeping Tom charges in exchange for the dismissal of other allegations.

He faces a punishment ranging from probation to four years in prison at his March 30 sentencing before Judge Robert LaForge.

Morrow also will have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
