Three men who announced themselves as sheriff’s deputies forced their way into a Clearlake mobile home early Saturday, pointed a gun at the occupants’ 9-year-old daughter and demanded money and marijuana from her parents, police said.

When the residents of Lakeland Mobile Home Park on Old Highway 53 told them they had neither, the suspects ransacked the home and fled, said Clearlake Police Sgt. Tim Hobbs. Two of the men drove off in a pickup headed south with the other running after it, he said.

Clearlake police and Lake County sheriff’s deputies responding to the 3 a.m. incident searched the area with K9 dogs and found unspecified evidence linked to the third man, Hobbs said.

All the suspects wore black bandannas and had black guns. Their truck was described as a “lifted” Toyota with a loud exhaust, Hobbs said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Officer Travis Lenz at 994-8251, ext. 508.
