Police search for therapist missing from Bay Area home

VALLEJO — A 29-year-old San Francisco Bay Area woman was kidnapped from her boyfriend's home and is possibly being held for ransom, police said Tuesday.

Authorities were notified by Denise Huskins' boyfriend that she had been abducted Monday from his home in Mare Island in Vallejo, the San Francisco Chronicle reported (http://bit.ly/1OyHms8 ).

Huskins' boyfriend, 30-year-old Aaron Quinn, called police about 2 p.m. Monday to report she had been forcefully taken from his home in the middle of the night and that the intruders had demanded a ransom for her return, police said.

It's not clear why Quinn took so long to alert authorities but wouldn't reveal details about the case and said the man is not a person of interest.

"We don't have all the facts yet," Vallejo police Lt. Kenny Park said at a news conference Tuesday. "All I can tell you is there was a ransom demand, (according to) the male person who reported this crime."

A car was taken from her Vallejo home and found at an undisclosed location, police said. The vehicle is registered to Quinn.

Quinn could not immediately be reached for comment. Park did not identify Quinn, but he said the man Huskins lives with was being interviewed by investigators.

Investigators "have a lot of information still to sift through. We don't have all of the facts in yet, and that's what he's helping us do, to piece the puzzle together."

Huskins works as a physical therapist at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Vallejo. She moved to Vallejo in June from Southern California.

About 75 searchers from Alameda, Contra Costa, San Mateo, Santa Clara and Solano counties set out Tuesday morning to look for Huskins or for evidence around Mare Island.
