The family of a man who was injured by a hit-and-run driver increased a cash reward for information that helps the police make an arrest, Santa Rosa police officials said Thursday.

Ronnie Remington, 46, of Santa Rosa was struck by a white van as he crossed Bellevue Avenue near Dutton Avenue just before 8 a.m. April 2, Santa Rosa police officials said.

The driver paused but then continued heading east, leaving the severely injured man to crawl for help, his family said. The van was seen turning onto northbound Corby Avenue, police said.

The driver was possibly a woman with long hair and the vehicle was described as a white van that looked like a newer Toyota and had paper plates, according to police.

Remington’s uncle Gene Crozat, who owns G&C Auto Body and employs Remington as an auto painter, is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest. That is double the reward he offered last week.

Remington had just bought a cup of coffee and was returning to work at G&C when he was struck, his uncle said. Remington suffered a serious injury to his foot that required surgery.

Anyone with information about the case can call the Santa Rosa Police Department’s traffic unit at 543-3636. Police asked that callers refer to Case No. 15-4328.
