NAPA — Authorities say an inmate died while in custody at the Napa County Department of Corrections, though officials say they don't yet know a cause of death.

The Napa Valley Register reports (http://bit.ly/1Qq8Elz ) cellmates found Bradley Allen Kent unresponsive and alerted the correctional officers Wednesday evening.

Napa County Sheriff's Capt. Steven Blower says the sheriff's office is investigating the 31-year-old inmate's death. He says the sheriff's office doesn't run the county jail.

Blower says Kent did not have any obvious injuries and there were no signs of foul play. An autopsy will be conducted Friday.

He says Kent had been in custody since Feb. 19 and was sentenced Tuesday to a year in the county jail for being under the influence of a controlled substance and violating his probation.
