DUI suspected in Rohnert Park head-on crash
Two drivers remained hospitalized Monday - one arrested on suspicion of DUI - following a Sunday head-on crash on Petaluma Hill Road.
Deborah Rogers, 63, of Sonoma was arrested following the 10:45 a.m. collision. Officers believed she was under the influence of prescription medication as she drove a Honda Accord, according to the CHP Monday.
Witnesses told officers the Honda was weaving as it traveled south on Petaluma Hill Road along the east side of Rohnert Park. Near Snyder Lane, her car reportedly crossed into the opposite lane and struck a Nissan Versa head on with a force that sheered off the front end of one of the vehicles.
Both drivers had to be freed from their cars.
Both Rogers and the Nissan driver, Megan Jones, 18, suffered major, non life-threatening injuries, the CHP said.
They were taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. On Monday, both were listed in fair condition, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Firefighters from Rancho Adobe, Rohnert Park, Rincon Valley and Santa Rosa responded.
