A 20-year-old Healdsburg resident stabbed three times late Monday night told police he was jumped by a group while walking north of town, according to Healdsburg police.

The man told officers he'd been on Parkland Farms Boulevard when a car pulled up carrying 4-5 people.

'He said he was just walking down the street minding his own business when 4-5 guys jumped out of a car, assaulted and stabbed him,' Healdsburg Sgt. Jose Garcia said Tuesday.

The wounded man then called a friend to help him to a hospital and when he arrived at about 11 p.m. at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, emergency room staff alerted police they were treating a stabbing victim.

Parkland Farms is a mainly upscale neighborhood in northern Healdsburg. Earlier this month police issued warnings for people in the area to lock their vehicles as several people reported having items stolen from their cars.

The victim, who police declined to identify, is known to officers from prior incidents.

Officers are hoping to hear from witnesses to the assault and Sgt. Garcia asked anyone with information to contact police at 707-431-3377.
