Cloverdale -- The Memorial Day Ceremony begins at 10 a.m. Monday at the Veterans Memorial Building, 205 W. First St., and will pay tribute to the 70th anniversary of D-Day. In addition to a patriotic sing-along, there will be a memorial roll call and ringing of the bell for all Cloverdale military personnel killed in action.

Healdsburg, Geyserville -- The Healdsburg American Legion, Sotoyome Post 111, will hold short services Monday at 10 a.m. at Oak Mound cemetery, 601 Piper St., Healdsburg; and 11 a.m. at Olive Hill Cemetery, 849 Canyon Road, Geyserville.

Calistoga -- The Calistoga American Legion Post 231 hosts Memorial Day Services Monday Monday at 9:30 a.m. at Pioneer Cemetery, Highway 128 just south of Petrified Forest Road, and at 11 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial at Logvy Park, 1401 N. Oak St. More info: 942-2807, ci.calistoga.ca.us.

Petaluma -- The annual Memorial Day event honoring all veterans starts at 11 a.m. Monday at Cypress Hill Memorial Park, 430 Magnolia Ave. It includes the Avenue of the Flags, speeches and a color guard.

Rohnert Park -- American Legion Post 338 hosts a Memorial Day program at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Rohnert Park Community Center, 5401 Snyder Lane, with the Rohnert Park Community Band, guest speakers and a color guard ceremony past the Avenue of the Flags.

Santa Rosa -- Santa Rosa Memorial Park hosts a celebration 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at 1900 Franklin Ave., with Avenue of the Flags and speakers Shirlee Zane, Mike Thompson and retired naval officer Dennis Viglienzone, father of late Army Pfc. Caesar S. Viglienzone of Santa Rosa. Stick around for a free one-hour, docent-led Memorial Day tour of Santa Rosa Rural Cemetery next door, meeting at the Franklin Avenue gate. Info: 543-3292.

Sonoma -- The Sonoma Valley Joint Memorial Day observance starts at 11 a.m. Monday at the Veterans Memorial Park, with color guards, music by the Sonoma Hometown Band, proclamations, a flyover and a keynote speech by General Joseph P. Hoar, USMC (Ret). Immediately following the ceremony, the Rotary Club of Sonoma Valley will serve a free hamburger and hot dog lunch at the Veterans Memorial Hall, 126 First St. W. Info: 481-8091.

Windsor -- VFW Post 168 and American Legion Post 111 host a Memorial Day wreath laying and full honor ceremony at noon Monday at Shiloh Cemetery, 7130 Windsor Road, with a dedication, 21-gun salute and playing of "Taps."

Windsor -- The Raven Players present "We Remember," a Memorial Day tribute, at 1 p.m. Monday at the Raven Theater Windsor, 195 Windsor Road. The Raven Players will read short stories, poems and essays to honor those who served in America's wars and conflicts. Donations go to Sonoma County Vet Connect, a nonprofit organizations that provides assistance veterans and their families. Info: 433-6335.

SATURDAY AND JUNE 1

Forestville -- Forestville's annual Memorial Day parade and two-day Youth Park BBQ begin with a water-soaked parade at 10 a.m. Saturday on Front St. (Highway 116). From 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday and June 1, the Youth Park on Mirabel Road hosts a BBQ with entertainment. Info: forestvilleyouthpark.org.
