A team of law enforcement officers Wednesday morning will converge on Healdsburg to look for bad drivers, according to Healdsburg police.

The effort will include as many as 14 officers from seven agencies who will work in the town throughout the morning, Healdsburg Lt. Matt Jenkins said Tuesday.

On Grove Street they’ll be looking for speeders and on Healdsburg Avenue - just south of downtown - they’ll be looking for a variety of traffic violations. They’ll also concentrate on streets near schools.

“We’ve looked at where the collisions have occurred in the last several years,” Jenkins said.

Participating agencies are Healdsburg, Santa Rosa, Windsor, Sonoma, Petaluma, Rohnert Park and the CHP. The multi-agency team moves to a new jurisdiction once a month, concentrating on problem areas.

This is the first time the group has come to Healdsburg, Jenkins said.
