The Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation and Open Space District is seeking land in the Santa Rosa area to serve as both a demonstration farm and house the agency’s headquarters.

The center might include a working farm, host a farmers market and offer educational and interpretive programs.

District officials say they have not yet determined the size of the proposed center nor how much it could cost to acquire property and construct facilities. Supervisors on Tuesday approved giving the district the authority to develop a business plan for the project, as well as an initial $75,000 for consultants.
