San Francisco robbery suspect shoots self in leg fleeing police
SAN FRANCISCO — Authorities say a robbery suspect who shot himself in the leg after running from police has been arrested.
KNTV reports (http://bit.ly/1I3z4SI) Thursday that he and another man were both taken into custody in San Francisco's Mission District before dawn Thursday. They had attempted to rob a person at gunpoint.
San Francisco Police Capt. Cornelius "Con" Johnson says police were nearby when the suspects ran after the attempted robbery. The names and ages of the men arrested were not released. The victim was not injured. The man who shot himself was taken to San Francisco General Hospital. Police found a gun nearby, possibly a machine gun.
