A Petaluma man is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday afternoon on charges stemming from a high-speed pursuit in a stolen pickup Friday night in Sonoma Valley.

David Allen Logue, Jr., 31, was arrested on a variety of charges including vehicle theft, assault with a deadly weapon on an officer, driving the wrong way on the road, hit and run, resisting arrest, committing a felony while out on bail, possession of a controlled substance and driving with a suspended license.

The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office said Logue led deputies on a wild pursuit in a black Chevy pickup stolen from Rohnert Park that was being tracked by OnStar.

The chase began around 10:45 p.m. when the stolen vehicle was spotted by a deputy at the intersection of Fetters Avenue and Sunset Way.

Logue almost rammed the patrol vehicle before knocking down sections of a fence and leading deputies on a chase with speeds exceeding 75 miles per hour on Highway 12, according to Sgt. Cecile Focha.

Because of the risk to the public, deputies ended the pursuit, but the OnStar representative tracked the stolen vehicle to a shopping center on Broadway Avenue, where Logue was spotted running a short time later. He was arrested with the help of a police dog.

When deputies searched him they found a pipe and methamphetamine and also discovered he was on probation, with a warrant for his arrest on other charges, according to Focha.
