Frustrated over finding parking in downtown Sonoma? City officials want to hear from you.

As part of an ongoing parking study, city officials have rolled out an online survey. They are urging residents, business owners and visitors alike to fill out the questionnaire linked on the city’s website, sonomacity.org.

The survey asks individuals when they park around the historic Plaza, what streets they find most congested and whether there’s enough disabled access and parking in downtown. It also asks whether they’d support metered parking.

“Without getting feedback from the public, we don’t know what the priorities are,” said David Goodison, the city’s planning director.

He said the study will take a closer look at the number of on- and off-street parking spaces downtown and what streets have the worst congestion. It also will help identify future needs, he said.
