Pedestrian hit by car on College ID?d

A 21-year-old pedestrian struck by a car on College Avenue on Tuesday afternoon was identified Friday as Jasmine Freeman.

Freeman was still being treated at a local hospital, but she is expected to live, said Santa Rosa Police Sgt. Lisa Banayat.

Officials still don?t know why or how Freeman was struck at the intersection of College and Cleveland avenues just before 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Witnesses said she may have just stepped off the curb when she was hit by a Ford Mustang. They said she struck the car?s windshield and flew over the back of the car, landing in the intersection.

The driver of the car was not suspected of driving under the influence.
