Fatal crash on Highway 29 in Lake County

The morning crash involved an overturned big rig, according to authorities.|

A fatal crash occurred Thursday morning in Lake County on Highway 29 near Soda Bay Road, the CHP said.

Details were not available as of mid-morning because officers remained at the scene, according to a CHP dispatcher.

According to the CHP’s website, the crash occurred at about 8:15 a.m. and involved an overturned big rig.

Lake County CHP also were responding Thursday morning to downed power lines on Highway 175 near Middletown. A tree caught fire, then fell into power lines and the road, blocking traffic, according to the CHP.
