Man suspected in series of Clearlake business burglaries

Clearlake police have arrested a man they suspect of burglarizing multiple businesses in town, smashing plate glass windows to make entry.

Michael Jensen, 21, of Clearlake, was arrested early Thursday morning behind a Rite-Aid store by officers following a series of alarms at area businesses, police said.

He attempted to flee from officers on foot, leaving behind laptop computers and other stolen items, police said.

Jensen is suspected of at least five burglaries or attempted burglaries since Monday.

He previously was arrested Feb. 3 on suspicion of burglary, at which time he also admitted to burglarizing a businesses in September, police said.

He was booked into the Lake County jail on three counts of commercial burglary, prowling, obstruction, possession of stolen property and two no bail warrants, one related to burglary.
