Big rig blocks Trinity Road

A big rig truck was blocking a portion of Trinity Road Monday morning, according to initial CHP reports.

The truck was reported stuck on a hill near Manzanita Lane, blocking the roadway for several hours, starting around 8:30 a.m.

As of 1:45 p.m., the road was clear.

Large trucks getting stuck on the steep, winding route is a common problem because GPS directions tell drivers it’s the fastest way between Glen Ellen and Napa County. Police and fire officials have tried to combat the issue by posting conspicuous signs informing drivers the passage is illegal for large trucks.
