The brother of actress Alicia Silverstone is facing felony marijuana charges in connection with a series of warrant searches last week in Mendocino County that also briefly snagged Bowe Bergdahl, the U.S. Army sergeant accused of deserting his post before his capture by the Taliban, according to the Daily Mail Online.

Mendocino County Sheriff’s officials could not confirm that David Silverstone is Alicia Silverstone’s brother, but photo comparisons indicate he is.

Mendocino County sheriff’s officials and jail records show that David Silverstone, 43, was arrested when law enforcement served a pair of search warrants on two neighboring Redwood Valley properties.

Bergdahl was visiting friends on an adjoining parcel at the time of the raids. Sheriff’s officials determined he was not involved in growing pot at that Tomki Road growing operation and released him to military authorities.

Silverstone is charged with two felony counts, cultivation of marijuana and possession of marijuana for sale. He was released on a $25,000 bail, sheriff’s authorities said.

Details of the July 21 raid on his farm were not available on Tuesday.
