2 dead in shooting outside Central California Social Security office
SALINAS — Two people are dead and two others critically injured after a morning shooting outside a U.S. Social Security Administration office in Salinas, Calif.
Television station KSBW (http://bit.ly/1KnP7R3 ) reports that the shooting unfolded Thursday before 9 a.m. in an industrial office park.
Salinas police say the shooting started as a domestic disturbance and was not connected to the federal government office. A man opened fire and killed an elderly couple.
Salinas Police Department Cmdr. Vince Maiorana said the shooting appears to be "the result of a domestic disturbance among family members." He said witnesses on scene directed police to the suspect.
One man was taken into custody. Police declined to release his name. He is being questioned at the police station.
