The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a wanted man who fled deputies Friday.

Daniel Winger, 40, was staying in the Kelseyville area. He is wanted on an out-of-county warrant for a hit-and-run incident that caused either great bodily injury or death, the Sheriff’s Office said.

He also is wanted in Lake County for evading authorities, vandalism and driving on a suspended license, officials said.

Winger led deputies on a pursuit around noon Friday near Westridge Drive and Grande Vista Drive in the Riviera Heights community just outside Kelseyville, officials said.

Sheriff Brian Martin said a deputy used a tactical maneuver with a patrol car to disable the man’s vehicle, but the man then ran. The search involved multiple law enforcement officers and a K9 unit.

Winger may have been injured after jumping off a second-story deck.

He is described as a 5-foot, 10-inch white man weighing about 150 pounds, with a shaved head and blue eyes. He last was seen wearing a dark shirt and jeans, sheriff’s officials said.

Resident who know Winger’s whereabouts are urged to call the Sheriff’s Office at 263-2690.
