Suspects ordered to trial in Rohnert Park shooting of prostitute

A judge ruled Monday there is enough evidence to try two Santa Rosa Junior College football hopefuls in the shooting of a prostitute.

Judge Julie Conger made the ruling after about two days of preliminary hearing testimony.

Conger said Ronnie Threadgill, 23, of Santa Rosa, can be tried on suspicion of attempted murder and assault with a firearm in the July 2 shooting of Kenisha Jackson, 24, of Sacramento, at a Rohnert Park Motel 6.

Police testified Threadgill shot Jackson in a robbery attempt after he paid to have sex with her. Jackson was left paralyzed from the neck down.

Conger said Threadgill's roommate, Koa Sibley, 19, can be tried on a charge of being an accessory to the shooting. Police testified Sibley drove Threadgill to and from the motel. Conger said it appeared Sibley knew Threadgill was involved in a shooting.

They were ordered back to court on Sept. 9.

Both men attended the junior college and were training to play football at the time.
