The owners of the Windsor home that was destroyed by fire Friday evening say they’ve been unable to find their cat, a female calico named Hunter Pence.

Teresa Mintonye, the owner of the home, said she last saw the cat Friday morning before the 5:30 p.m. blaze ripped through her home, a two-story, 3,200-square-foot house at the end of Vinecrest Road, on the southeast end of Foothill Regional Park.

“There was a cat door,” Mintonye said. “I can’t see why she wouldn’t have gotten out.”

Mintonye’s daughter Alanna Mintonye said the family cat was about 5 years old and had gray, orange, black and white fur, as well as white paws.

Alanna and her mother left the house Friday afternoon, Alanna said, and when they returned she noticed flames on the home’s deck. She initially thought the fire could easily be put out, but in less than two minutes it had spread into the house, she said.

Only the home’s charred foundation and wall segments remain, which the family said would be a strange sight for Hunter Pence.

“I’m sure she doesn’t have too much incentive to come home,” Teresa Mintonye said. “The house is gone.”
