Cloverdale

Police awarded grant

The Cloverdale Police Department has been awarded a U.S. Department of Homeland Security grant in the amount of $39,600 for a new portable radio upgrade project.

The grant was facilitated by the Sonoma County Office of Emergency Services (OES), which will actually purchase six new APX 7000 multiband portable radios for the city.

According to City Manager Paul Cayler, the new radios will allow Cloverdale police to communicate with outside agencies during mutual aid situations and provide a broader coverage distance.
