A fire burned a travel trailer on the edge of Rohnert Park Sunday night, destroying it and killing two dogs.

Rancho Adobe Fire Capt. James Deurloo said investigators were under the impression the 25-foot trailer’s tenant was not at home when the fire broke out at 9:45 p.m., but they had yet to reach him Monday morning.

The fire spread to a pickup, destroying it and a nearby motorcycle, and threatened nearby structures including a barn, according to Wandel.

“It was out in the middle of some very tall vegetation, so had it happened the night before it would have been a different story,” he said, referring to Saturday night’s strong winds.

Six fire engines from Rancho Adobe, Rohnert Park and Rincon Valley departments responded to the fire off Snyder Lane.
