Grass fire burns on remote coastal hill

Firefighters scrambled Tuesday morning to get to a brush fire along a remote coastal road above Fort Ross.

Calls reporting a possible grass fire came in at 8:35 a.m., initially pointing firefighters toward Creighton Ridge Road, according to initial dispatch reports. That was changed to Brain Ridge Road and Tan Oak Road, high in the hills between Fort Ross and Cazadero.

Arriving firefighters reportedly found flames in the brush of a small area and knocked it out quickly.

Cal Fire and volunteers from Cazadero, Fort Ross and Timber Cove responded, according to a Redcom dispatcher.
