A memorial service for Dan Bribiescas, one of the most successful soccer coaches in Santa Rosa High and Empire history, is scheduled for Nov. 1.

Bribiescas died Sept. 26 at the age of 56.

Bribiescas, who attended Santa Rosa High and was named the North Bay League’s most valuable player his senior year, played four years of Division II soccer at Chico State.

As a coach at his alma mater, Bribiescas led the Panthers to nine NBL championships, five North Coast Section titles and two titles in the Tournament of Champions - the precursor to the NCS tournament.

The memorial service will be at ?11 a.m. Nov. 1 in the Santa Rosa High ?School Auditorium.

A reception will follow at the Odd Fellows Hall, 545 Pacific Ave.
