A Middletown man was arrested on suspicion of a variety of drug charges Thursday after he was pulled over for driving erratically along Highway 53, Lake County sheriff's officials said.
William Glynn Graves, 49, was stopped at about 12:30 p.m. on the highway near Dam Road in Clearlake after he made an abrupt lane change in front of a deputy, Capt. Jim Bauman said.
Graves appeared to be under the influence of drugs and the deputy called a police dog unit to search the white Toyota Solara, Bauman said.
The dog found a quarter-ounce of methamphetamine concealed between the driver's seat and the center console, he said. On the way to the jail, Graves told the deputy he had a half-ounce of the drug hidden in the crotch of his pants, which was later found by jail staff, Bauman said.
Graves is being held on $15,000 bail on suspicion of having and transporting a controlled substance for sales and being under the influence of a controlled substance, according to Bauman.
