A Santa Rosa home suffered extensive damage Saturday morning when a fire broke out in one of its rooms.

In all, it took about 20 minutes for firefighters to contain the blaze on the 1900 block of Diamond Court, a news release from the Santa Rosa Fire Department said.

No one was home when flames broke out in one of the home’s bedrooms, which was converted into a TV room, Battalion Chief Ken Sebastiani said.

“It could be possibly electrical,” Sebastiani said. “That’s what they’re focusing on.”

When crews arrived, flames were blowing out the front and side windows of the room, and the fire had extended to the attic.

No injuries were reported. Damages were estimated at $50,000. The official cause is under investigation.
