Concussions. They are a hot topic, especially in sports.

A-list actor Will Smith is lending his star power to the issue and taking the NFL to task in his new film “Concussion.”

But for area parents, coaches, even doctors, the issue is not the stuff of melodrama on the silver screen, but daily choices about what is safe, what is not, what are reasonable risks in the name of play and what are not.

In this episode of Overtime, “Brained,” Kerry Benefield explores the dangers, the myths and the changing rules of sport, especially youth sports, as people grapple with questions over concussions.
