A Kelseyville woman was arrested Friday night on suspicion of drunken driving following a head-on collision in Lakeport that sent one man to the hospital with serious injuries, police said.

The 10:30 p.m. crash occurred in the 1000 block of Lakeport Boulevard.

Police said Athina Marlene Cook, 31, was driving in the wrong direction on the road when her 2012 Scion IQ collided head-on with a 1999 Honda CRV.

The 21-year-old driver of the Honda, who is 9 months pregnant, did not suffer any apparent injuries. But her passenger, a 19-year-old Lakeport man, possibly suffered broken bones and was taken to a hospital.

Cook, who was not injured, was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI causing injury, reckless driving and driving while on probation. She was booked into the Lake County Jail on a no-bail hold.

Police said Cook was convicted of DUI in 2012 in Lake County after she nearly struck a police officer and several bystanders. Cook’s blood-alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit in that case.
