A 77-year-old Glen Ellen man who died after he was pinned between a horse trailer and a gate was identified Monday as Jack Allen Bingham Jr., Sonoma County coroner officials said.

Bingham had been towing two horses in the trailer with a Dodge Ram truck Thursday on a long gravel driveway of his property off Dunbar Road when he got out of the truck to close a gate, CHP officials said.

He did not set his parking brake and the pickup started traveling in reverse and pinned Bingham against the gate, officials said.

A passerby found him at about 1:20 p.m. Thursday. He had succumbed to his injuries, the CHP said.
