The Press Democrat's 'Stuck in Squalor' series to be discussed on KQED program

Happening now: Reporter Angela Hart is appearing on KQED's Forum discussing the recent yearlong investigation of substandard housing in Sonoma County.|

Reporter Angela Hart will discuss The Press Democrat's recent yearlong investigation of substandard housing in Sonoma County, and the impact of poor housing conditions on tenants' health and safety, during the first hour of KQED Forum on Wednesday, set to air at 9 a.m.

Published over four days in January, the series documented the prevalence of squalid rental housing in cities and communities across the county.

The stories explored the effects on tenants living in conditions that in some cases went unfixed for years, resulting in chronic problems with mold, vermin and cockroach infestations, inadequate heating, broken plumbing and other structural problems.

KQED Forum airs on 88.3 or 88.5 FM. The weekly call-in program also can be heard online at kqed.org/forum.
