A Pacific Union College student is dead and six other students injured after a single-car crash in rural Napa County on Monday.

Just before 2 p.m., Isaac Soon Hwang, 21, of Chino crashed his 2004 Ford Expedition into a boulder on Deer Park Road, causing the SUV to flip, the CHP said in a news release.

Fen Pan, 20, was not wearing her seat belt, and was ejected from the car. She was pronounced dead at the site of the crash. Five other passengers, as well as Hwang, were treated for minor injuries at local hospitals. All were wearing seat belts, and since have been released.

According to the CHP, Hwang was driving north when, for unknown reasons, he drove onto the shoulder and struck the boulder. Drugs and alcohol were not a factor, the CHP said.

According to a Facebook post from PUC, Pan was from Beijing, taking music and pre-dentistry courses.
