Tell us: Have you used local psychiatric emergency services?

The Press Democrat wants to talk with Sonoma, Mendocino and Lake county residents who have used local psychiatric emergency services for themselves or a loved one. We also want to talk with local providers of psychiatric emergency services to determine what's working - and what's not - in the local mental health safety net.

What do you do when you or a loved one faces a mental health crisis? Where do you go when a loved one threatens or attempts suicide? Have you or a loved one sat in a hospital bed waiting for days to be transferred to an out-of-county psychiatric hospital? Have you or a loved one received psychiatric services in the Sonoma County Jail's mental health wing?

Reporter Martin Espinoza is working on a series of stories examining psychiatric emergency services on the North Coast. Please contact him at martin.espinoza@pressdemocrat.com or (707) 521-5213 for possible inclusion.
