Sacramento pastor sinks half-court shot, donates prize
SACRAMENTO - A Sacramento pastor who sank a half-court shot at a Sacramento Kings game plans to raffle the car he won to raise money for charity.
The Sacramento Bee reports (http://bit.ly/1WruicE ) that Center of Praise Ministries senior pastor Joseph Sissac won a new car during the April 5 game but had second thoughts when he arrived at the dealership.
The 40-year-old Sissac won a $15,000 Ford Fiesta but announced Tuesday that he and his wife will chip in $2,000 and raffle a Ford Focus instead.
Sissac hopes to raise $30,000 by selling raffle tickets for $10 each. He plans to split the money between Center of Praise's math and literacy camp and the Hoops to Hopes program.
According to its filings, Hoops to Hope focuses on education, homelessness and human trafficking.
