Rohnert Park police said they have arrested a 14-year-old boy who led officers on a high-speed chase early Saturday and fled on foot after crashing the car.

Officers said the driver of a Kia Spectra turned himself in some time later and was being held at juvenile hall. His name was not released because he is a minor, police said.

The incident was reported about 1:40 a.m. on Southwest Boulevard at Seed Farm Drive.

Officers said the driver refused to pull over after making a stop-sign violation, instead accelerating west on Southwest Boulevard at more than 90 mph.

He increased his speed before losing control near Commerce Boulevard, where he struck a sign and several bushes before coming to a stop, police said.

Two passengers in the vehicle who were also minors were detained. They were not injured.

It was determined the driver took the car from someone without permission, police said.
