Clearlake police on Monday seized 6,800 marijuana plants and a loaded handgun from associated residences and properties on 28th Avenue.

They arrested Ricardo Perez, 37, the only person on site. Police believe others are involved, officials said.

The main residence, where police reported finding 2,300 pot plants growing inside and outside, included tunnels between some of the grow rooms, police said.

Police said they also found drying marijuana, illegal electrical connections and mold.

The main residence was red tagged because of unsafe conditions, police said.

Perez was booked into the County Jail for cultivation, possession of marijuana for sale, being armed during the commission of a felony, and being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. He had a prior felony conviction for possession of marijuana and sales, police said.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the police department.
