Two men found unconscious at two Ukiah fast food eateries

Over two days, Ukiah police arrested two men suspected of intoxication when they were found unconscious in two separate fast-food drive-thu lanes.|

Two intoxicated men were found unconscious inside vehicles in two fast food drive-thru lanes in two days, the Ukiah Police Department reported Tuesday.

The first was at 5:54 a.m. on Saturday, when police said they found Texas resident Nicholas Brown, 19, unresponsive inside a black Honda Accord at the Jack in the Box drive-through on Airport Park Boulevard.

The windows were up and doors locked, so police, concerned the man was having a medical emergency, were forced to break a window, police officials said.

Once the door was opened, police said they could smell the strong odor of alcohol and marijuana.

Brown, after being awakened and tested for DUI, was placed under arrest and had his vehicle towed, officials said.

The second incident was reported at 1:13 a.m. Sunday at the McDonald’s drive-through on North Orchard Ave., police said.

The officer responding found a gray Chevrolet Impala with the engine running and an unconscious man in the driver’s seat. Alfredo Romero, 30, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license.
