An Oakland man is being held in Lake County Jail on suspicion of kidnapping, sexual assault, marijuana cultivation and narcotics possession, according to the Clearlake Police Department.

Ricky Roberts, 51, was arrested Sunday after a woman alleged he had kidnapped her at gunpoint from Alameda County and taken her to Clearlake, where he sexually assaulted her and sprayed her in the face with pepper spray when she resisted, police said.

The woman reportedly escaped to a neighboring house and phoned police.

Police said they apprehended Roberts as he attempted to escape over a back fence of the Lakeview Avenue home.

At the home, officers found a handgun and 72 marijuana plants being grown indoors, according to police officials.

They also located a large amount of dried and processed marijuana, about 110 grams of cocaine, approximately 20 grams of heroin, $5,800 in cash and other evidence of narcotics sales, officials said.

Roberts was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping, false imprisonment, oral copulation, sodomy with force, use of a tear gas weapon, being armed in the commission of a felony, being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, marijuana cultivation, possession of marijuana for sale and possession of narcotics for sale.

He was being held in jail on $300,000 bail.
