Man walks away from Northern California crash only to be killed by big rig

SACRAMENTO - A man was hit and killed by a big rig on Interstate 5 in North California after surviving an earlier crash.

The Sacramento Bee reports (http://bit.ly/1SR88f3 ) that the 65-year-old man from Sloughhouse had been in a crash with a big rig on Wednesday when he walked away from his vehicle. He was then struck by a second tractor-trailer and killed.

California Highway Control officials say the man may have been confused when he walked away from the first crash.

CHP has not released the identity of the man.
