Clearlake police seize 340 marijuana plants

Clearlake police confiscated about 340 marijuana plants Thursday morning at a home in the 3500 block of Maple Street, the department said.

No one was at the house when officers served a search warrant about 8:30 a.m., but investigators identified a “potential suspect,” Lt. Tim Celli said in a press release.

A smaller marijuana grow was found at the property several months ago and was removed after code enforcement officials contacted the owner, who had rented the house to a tenant, Celli said.

The pot found Thursday was believed to be grown for commercial rather than medical use, he said. Investigators found evidence linking the Maple Street house to a recently eradicated commercial grow on Manchester Avenue, Celli said.
